Prequel
My mother and daughter went to Potsdam on their tour into East Germany in 1976). They went to San Souci.
I have a couple of photos my daughter took there.
SanSouci
They were shown the room where the Potsdam conference was held. My mother (as was her wont) took a photo out of the window. Some of the other people on the tour came to her and said that the guards were upset about the photo as it would show the East German side of "the wall". They said she should make herself scarce. So she and my daughter put on their raincoats, and hid their cameras and got back on the bus. The photo did not show anything remarkable - it was just a bleak landscape. I don't have that photo right now.

After lunch, we got on a boat and rode out to Potsdam

It was a nice boat ride (we were on the top deck) and B slept a little bit on the life preserver box.

We got to Potsdam about 1500, and walked up to Cecilienhof where the Potsdam Conference was held. Here I decided it would be too much walking for me, so Suzanne (our minder) took me back to the bus. My granddaughter went on with the group. She reported that the tour was was mostly of the gardens

and they didn't go into the house. The best she was able to do was to take a pictureure of the window in the room where the Potsdam conference was held.

Finally, here, even my granddaughter decided that it was too much to do so we both opted to stay in the bus area. She wanted an ice cream got to Sansouci Park. but I had only 1.5 euros and the concession stands
Candy land
wouldn't take any other kind of money, so she got 1.5 euros worth of the gummy bear type candy.

Then the bus took us back to the train station where we were supposed to take our some seats for the ride back. But apparently the other four people in the compartment decided among themselves that we should have the window this time, so that's where we were. B slept a little. The train picked up the rest of the tour groups in Berlin and then the train took us back to the port.

We got back about 2030, and after dropping our stuff at the cabin, we went right to the dining room. They were having a BBQ on the Lido deck, but I was not up for that. I had Melon and Papaya slices and B had
Steamed Manila Clams
as appetizers. She had double baked potato soup and I had Prime Rib. B went to bed after dinner, but I went out and took pictures of the port area in the dark (now about 2330).

B took almost 500 pictures, and I took 340. They are not all edited.
